Nosara woman tells police she was a hostage for weeks

A Nosara woman has escaped from what was a month and a half of imprisonment by her husband.

Fuerza Pública officers detained the man after he had barricaded himself in his home. Police said that officers on patrol heard the woman screaming as she fled the home. She is 19, they said.

The Fuerza Pública said they captured the man when he tried to flee along the mouth of the Río Nosara. The home is in Barrio San Ramón de Nosara. The 26-year-old man was identified by the last names of  Zúñiga Zúñiga.
