Quake rattles Caribbean

The Laboratorio de Ingenieria Sismica reported a 4.3 magnitude quake took place this morning at 1:35 a.m. 4.8 kilometers southeast of Carrandi de Matina on the Caribbean coast.  The quake was felt strongly in Limón Centro, Moín and Batan.

The shock also was felt as far away as Cartago, San Isidro de El General and Buenos Aires de Puntarenas, said the Laboratorio which is based at the Universidad de Costa Rica.
