Coast guard gets station on Nicoya’s Pacific coast

The Servicio Nacional de Guardacostas will be setting up a new station at Puerto Coyote on the Pacific coast of the Nicoya peninsula.

The security ministry has reached an agreement with the  Municipalidad de Nandayure. There will be about 15 members of the coast guard stationed there, and there are plans to build a $300,000 structure. The building is expected to be ready in about a year.
