Firebomber gets no time in flagrancia appearance

One of the demonstrators who tangled with police in front of the Asamblea Legislativa May 1 received two years and 11 months in jail. But since the sentence was less than three years, the individual remains free as long as he does not commit any criminal acts.

This was one of the individuals who were trying to use firebombs against police at the end of the May Day parade. The protesters also threw rocks and other items.

The individual appeared in the Tribunal de Flagrancia of the Segundo Circuito Judicial Thursday afternoon. Police did not name him. He admitted aggression with a weapon, threatening a public official and having explosive materials. One of those at the demonstration was found to have a briefcase full of firebombs.

Some of the protesters were university students.
