Security workers are eligible for vaccination protection

Police officers and administrative workers in the security ministry are eligible to vaccinations for a range of diseases.

Mario Zamora, the security minister, was quoted in a release saying that the shots were donated by the Pfizer Co. Employees 50 years and over are getting the shots, which would cost 52,000 colons or about $100 each.

Among other diseases, the shots protect against pneumococcus, meningitis and pneumonia.

The estimated 3,000 eligible employees can receive the shots at work or at any Fischel, the ministry said.
