Family posts $5,000 reward for suspect in Limón slaying

The family of a 28-year-old man slain in a robbery attempt in Limón April 9 has posted a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.

The victim was Jermaine Barrientos Vargas, who was confronted by armed robbers after he left work in Limón Centro about 11 p.m. April 9.

Police detained one of three suspects in the neighborhood shortly after the crime. The family said two suspects still were in flight and that the man suspected of pulling the trigger is Javier Antonio Watson Smith,
19. The reward is posted for his capture.

Watson was the subject of a juvenile arrest warrant that never had been executed, the family said through their lawyer..
