Home invasion suspect held after months of investigation

Judicial agents have detained a man they say was a vicious home invader who worked during the day.

The man was detained Monday in Ciudad Neily after six months of investigation, said the Judicial Investigating Organization. He was detained at his home in Parcelas Alfa de Sabalito de Coto Brus where agents confiscated as evidence a firearm, gloves and a mask that they said were used in the invasions.

Unlike many burglars who prefer empty homes, the 31-year-old man is accused of making telephone calls to homes he wanted to victimize. The bandit wanted to make sure persons were at home, agents said.  He would then go to the home and call at the front door. Then he would violently enter the home.

Agents said there were at least five complaints about a bandit with this method of invading a home.
