Laundering penalties upheld as not being unreasonable

The Sala IV constitutional court has upheld the legitimacy of penalties for money laundering. The court decision was announced Thursday.

A former prosecutor who is facing a money laundering trial challenged the penalties, which have a maximum of 20 years in prison. The minimum is either eight years or 10 depending on the type of conviction.
