Snake victim airlifted from Palmar Sur

A 65-year-old man had a run-in with a poisonous snake in Palmar Sur Thursday. The security ministry’s Servicio de Vigilancia Aérea had to fly him to Juan Santamaría airport where he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Snake bites are not rare in the rural areas, and Costa Rica has most anti-venoms available on short notice.

The man was identified as Santos Núñez Núñez.
