Laura Chinchilla said goodbye Thursday at her last visit as president to celebrate the Anexión del Partido de Nicoya. The event was a bit rainy and calm even though there was a number of protesters.
The president completed three days in Guanacaste where she inaugurated facilities and made other presentations. This is typical of the Anexión holiday in every administration because residents in the far west believe that the central government seldom looks their way.
Nicoya was a fiesta all day with a horse parade in the late morning, marimbas, dancers and locals bands.
