Law officers capture well-armed, camouflaged men

The  Policía de Fronteras  with help from the  Fuerza Pública  and the Servicio Nacional de Guardacostas managed to detain four men dressed in camouflage in the extreme northwestern part of the country.

The time was Saturday, and the location was Playa Papaturro in La Cruz.

The three Nicaraguans and a Costa Rican were dressed more for warfare than for hunting. The Costa Rica, identified by the last name of  Medina Amoretti, carried an AK-47 firearm and 86 rounds of ammunition. Another man carried a shotgun. There also was a .38-caliber handgun and binoculars.

Two of the men were illegal Nicaraguans. Another Nicaraguan had Costa Rican residency, said police.

Police said that the men tried to resist arrest, but  that no police officer was injured. The charges will relate to illegal possession of a weapon, said officers.
