Super gasoline and diesel prices are going down but plus gasoline will remain the same at 707 per liter under new prices announced Wednesday by the regulating agency.
Super gasoline drops 8 colons to 739 a liter, and diesel drops 13 colons to 611. Eight colons is about 1.4 U.S. cents. 13 colons is about 2.4 U.S. cents.
The reductions were attributed to the changes in the price of petroleum on the international markets, said the Autoridad Reguladora de Servicios Públicos. When the new prices are published and become effective, super gasoline will cost $5.67 a U.S. gallon. Plus or regular still will cost $5.42, and diesel will be $4.69 a U.S. gallon.
All petroleum fuels are sold through the state monopoly Refinadora Costarricense de Petróleo S.A.
Aviation gasoline went up 31 colons to 983 colons a liter, and jet fuel drops just 6 colons.
