Forensic experts handling case of two dead in Tres Ríos

Investigators hope that medical examiners can shed some light on the deaths of two persons, including perhaps at least one U.S. citizen. The pair were found at a rented home in Tres Ríos Thursday. They had not been seen for several days.

The home was rented by a North American man, and agents presume he is one of the bodies located in the dwelling. With him was the body of a woman. Names have not been released.

The man appeared to have suffered from a bullet wound in the head, and initially agents said they suspected suicide. However, the forensic lab will be able to determine if the man fired a gun.

The woman’s body did not have any apparent injury, said the Judicial Investigating Organization.
