Teacher arrested in alleged scam over providing employment

A teacher has been detained on a fraud charge because investigators claim he was taking money for supposedly finding individuals state jobs as clerical assistants or teachers.

The Judicial Investigating Organization said that in the four months that the investigation was going on the man collected 3.5 million colons, about $7,000.

The 38-year-old man was detained at his home Thursday in the Plaza González Víquez section of San José.
