Burglars who appear to have known what they were doing made off with part of an insect collection estimated by its owner at $100,000. The Judicial Investigating Organization said that the burglary was at a private home in Coto Brus where the owners maintained an insect museum.
The crooks appear to have broken in Dec. 27 and carried off 27 cases or trays of insect specimens. They included beetles and butterflies. The stolen items appear to have little value except in the insect trade.
