Repairs made during dry season less expensive, construction firm says

The dry season not only is a good time to make home repairs, the lack of rain may also means repairs will be cheaper.

The insulation firm Prodex said Tuesday that a cubic meter of insulation installed in the dry season costs about $3. To do so in the rainy season might run the cost as high as $8 a cubic meter because of additional time and preparation and damage to materials, it said.

The firm also noted that a national survey of homes showed that some 42 percent of the dwellings in Costa Rica need some type of repair.
