Liz England, a professor at Shenandoah University in the U.S. state of Virginia, will be the special presenter when teachers of English gather Wednesday for the 30th such annual conference.
The program is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, the Ministerio de Educación Pública and Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano in Los Yoses, where it will be held.
The U.S. Embassy said Thursday that Professor England would spend two week here and visit universities and high schools in Orosi, Liberia, Puntarenas, Sarapiquí, San Carlos and Alajuela.
The professor is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has worked overseas. She is an expert on teaching English as a foreign language.
Being honored at the conference will be Leonardo Garnier, the long-time minister of Educación Pública, said the embassy announcement. The conference begins at 8 a.m.
