Tough squash

So what are those watermelon-like produce showing up in all the ferias,on the street and even in the upscale supermarkets?

This is the  chiverre, a squash with a tough skin that has to be charred and assaulted with a hammer to obtain the making for miel de chiverreinside. The  cucurbita ficifoliais along-time favorite at Eastertime with Costa Ricans. but expats are advised to buy the prepared jelly instead of battling a squash.
