Venezuela will mark death of Chávez with ceremonies

Today is a big day in Caracas,Venezuela where his supporters will commemorate the one year anniversary of the death of Hugo Chávez from cancer.

Nicaraguan sources say that Daniel Ortega, the president there, will be going to Venezuela for the event.

Other Latin leaders also are expected.  A parade is planned.

There still are barricades in Venezuelan cities erected by protesting students. President Nicolás Maduro had hoped that the traditional pre-Lenten carnival holiday would eliminate the protests, but that does not seem to have happened.
