Dancers from Michigan to perform in Cartago

Ballerinas from the University of Michigan’s dance department are traveling more than 2,000 miles to dazzle a Costa Rican crowd this weekend.

Tecnológico de Costa Rica’s school of culture and sport and the Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano have invited the troupe to perform a free, two-hour show in Cartago. Michigan is known for having one of the best contemporary dance schools in the United States.

The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Centro de las Artes del Tecnológico de Costa Rica, located at the central Cartago campus.
