Motorist, 28, gunned down in Heredia by moto riders

A 38-year-old man died in San Rafael de Heredia after he was shot by two people on a motorcycle while he was driving. Investigators from the Judicial Investigating Organization said the man was traveling in a four-wheel drive car when the motorcyclists approached and opened fire Wednesday around 10 a.m.

The man was identified by the last name of Quintero. An organization report said he died at the scene and had been accompanied by another passenger, who was unharmed.

The Poder Judicial confirmed Wednesday that  Quintero had once been under witness protection after he was the victim of an attempted murder. However, that was not the case at the time of his death.
