”Passion of St. John’ due for two performances

The  Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional and the  Coro Sinfónico Nacional will be presenting a special concert tonight and Friday at 8 p.m. in the Teatro Nacional. The groups are under the direction of  John Nelson and Ramiro A. Ramírez

The work is the “Passion of St. John” by  Johann Sebastian Bach. The 18th century work is inspired by the Gospel of John. The first performance was in 1724.

Typically the chorus follows the words of the Bible closely. Admission is 10,000 colons, a bit less than $20. There are discounts for seniors and students.
