Based on information from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, anti-drug police raided two homes in the Lomas del Mar subdivision in the Sardinal district of Carrillo Thursday. They confiscated 720 kilos of cocaine, they said.
They also found plastic containers suggesting that there was some relationship with seagoing smugglers in the nearby Pacific.
Some 212 kilos of the drug were in a hidden compartment under the bed of a truck. Another vehicle yielded bags with 451 kilos of cocaine, anti-drug agents said.
Four persons were detained.
The case was the most significant of several drug-related arrests Thursday.
