Technology chamber plans a job search site

The technology chamber plans to debut a Web site Tuesday that is designed to help those in the industry find jobs.

The Cámara de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación said it took this step because of the number of persons being laid off by Intel Costa Rica and Bank of America. Both firms have announced major cuts, and Intel is moving its manufacturing arm to Vietnam. The first dismissal notices are expected to be handed out this week.

The chamber said that it would provide a list of companies that seek technology applicants.

The Web site is being done in conjunction with Olé Software and the advertising agency Actif, said the chamber. The concept has the support of a number of government agencies and private organizations, the chamber said.
