Ailing Tico returned from Honduras

A 72-year-old Costa Rican man spent 22 days in a Honduran hospital with severe illnesses, and at the request of his family, the Costa Rican Servicio de Vigilancia Aérea flew a craft to Tegucigalpa and retrieved him.

The man is Justino Daniel Rodríguez Izquierdo, a professor. He suffered  what appears to be a stroke, but he also came down with pneumonia. He had gone to Honduras for a conference on recycling, said the security ministry.

The air wing of the security ministry does a lot of ambulance flights but not often outside the country.
