Industrial chamber gets a new president

Enrique J. Egloff has been named president of the Cámara de Industrias de Costa Rica.

He is a former president of the Coalición Costarricense de Iniciativas de Desarrollo, the country’s investment promotion agency. He also has worked at Firestone and Gallito Industrial and has served as adviser to the World Bank, Intel Corp. and Abbot, said the chamber.

The chamber said that he plans to construct alliances and strongly promote the organization’s work.

He was quoted as saying that an industrial policy that improved competitivity in the country is required urgently.

A new board of directors also was named.
