Police at Juan Santamaría Airport detained an American man after they said they found bags of pot brownies in his luggage.
Once police dogs alerted them to a suspicious smell, airport security officers found 365 grams of marijuana within the brownies, a Fuerza Pública report said. They detained the 58-year-old American identified by the last name Salladay. The police said the man has legal residency in Costa Rica.
The arrest happened after the man had taken two internal flights from Nosara and Quepos, the report said.
