Striking municipal workers to meet

The mayor of Montes de Oca, which includes San Pedro, said Tuesday that municipal workers have been on strike since Friday.

After a series of meetings Tuesday, the worker’s union has called a general meeting today at 9 a.m. to see if the strike should continue.

The mayor, Fernando Trejos B., said that he expected the strike to end soon so that the jobs of trash collection, recycling, cemetery maintenance, cleaning streets and gutters and all the other necessary tasks could resume.
