Country praised for its energy policy

Costa Rica received praise from the president of the European Investment Bank at a meeting of business leaders from Latin America and Europe in Germany Monday.

The banker, Werner Hoyer, held up Costa Rica as an example of innovation with renewable energy, according to a summary from the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto.

In the coming years, Costa Rica will get 100 percent of its energy from sustainable sources, said Hoyer. And the country will serve as an example for other countries to do the same, he said.
