Riteve is rejected again for fee hike

The Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos has once again rejected a bid for a rate increase from the company that inspects vehicles.

The firm is Riteve SyC Costa Rica. The company has 13 fixed inspection stations and four mobil ones.

The rate fixing agency said once again that it did not have methodology approved by the Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes to evaluate a rate increase request.

That has been a continual theme, and the effort for the inspection firm to obtain a rate increase has a long history.

The firm wanted 30,000 colons for an automobile inspection. That’s about $66.
