This dynamite home business venture was really explosive

A call from a concerned neighbor alerted police to an illegal explosives manufacturing operation in a home in Quircot, Cartago.

This does not appear to be a holiday fireworks operation. Police found several thousand empty shells for eight- and quarter–sticks of dynamite. They suspected that the woman in the home was making the explosives for companies that do construction or demolition.

The woman was detained and police spent much of Wednesday night counting and cataloging the devices.  There also were boxes of fireworks-type products.

The Fuerza Pública called in a special explosives unit.

Police said that they suspected the empty dynamite shells would have been filled with explosives if they had not ended the operation.

Police officers count and catalogue the dynamite shells.
