A 28-year-old U.S. tourist has been rescued after some seven hours in the woods Cuajiniquil de Santa Cruz. The Fuerza Pública identified her as Svetlana Bershadshy and said that she went into a mountainous area about 3 p.m. to look around Sunday.
When she did not return, others staying in the same place that she was gave the alert.
Two teams of local searchers and Cruz Roja workers took up the challenge and located her shortly before 11 p.m., said the Fuerza Pública. Police said she did not show any signs of physical problems.
Meanwhile, in the Southern part of the country
in Parque Nacional Corcovado there was no news in the search for Roman Dial, Jr., the Anchorage, Alaska, man who has been missing for more than a week.
