Way too many dogs and cats lead to a rescue operation

An elderly woman in Desamparados had her cats and dogs but could not continue to take care of them. That’s when the  Servicio Nacional de Salud Animal and the Humane Society International moved in to protect the animals.

A report said that there were 12 cats and five dogs.

The organization calls this a hoarding rescue operation. Frequently a good heart trumps good sense, and individuals end up with far more animals then they can reasonably maintain. The neighbors are not too thrilled, either.

Photos provided by the Humane Society show dogs and cats responding favorably to rescuers.
