Regulation ordered for gifted education

The Sala IV constitutional court has ordered the executive branch to establish regulations to accommodate gifted students. The action was brought by the parent of a first-grade student in Chacarita, Puntarenas.

Although Ley 8899 is on the books that should allow education officials to evaluate the potential of gifted students, there never has been a regulation published. The court said this should be done in two months.
