The Christmas mission is to make Tico kids happy

The 1955 song “I’m getting nuttin’ for Christmas” is a reality for many disadvantaged Costa Rican youngsters. But once again it is the U.S. Marines to the rescue.

Toys for Tots ─ Juguetes Para Niños En Navidad  is a non-profit foundation maintained by Marine Corps League Costa Rica to support the efforts of the U.S. Marine security detachment at the U.S. Embassy.

the league distributed toys to 150 kids as part of the  Semillitas de Amor or “seeds of Love” program.

The program has existed in the United States for 70 years as Toys for Tots, and expats who are members of the league are well acquainted with the Christmas efforts.
