Costa Rica and Singapore have signed an agreement that will give national aircraft access to the other country. The Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes said that this is a strategic move that takes advantage of Singapore’s role as a transportation hub.
The ministries of both countries will now work on the detailed agreement.
The agreement will cover aircraft even if they are flying to third countries. The agreement is seen as a boost for Asian tourism.
The transport minister, Carlos Segnini, was in Singapore to reach the agreement.
The open skies pact is a way to take advantage of the dynamism of the Asian region, he said.
