Minor quake on Caribbean coast

A minor earthquake took place Sunday at 7:34 p.m. near Limón on the Caribbean coast.

The Laboratorio de Ingeniería Sísmica at the Universidad de Costa Rica estimated the magnitude at 3.0, and said that most residents of the area would not have felt it.

The Laboratorio estimated the epicenter at 2.1 kilometers north northwest of Matina and 7.3 kilometers south southwest of Limón Centro.
