More winds are predicted for today with rain in the Caribbean

There will be no surprise that today promises to be windy, too.

This is the usual January condition due to high pressure from the north. But the same wind bring moisture from the Caribbean to the coast and the northern zone.

The area around Cariblanco and Sarapiquí got the most rain Monday, said the Instituto Meteorológico Nacional.  The weather service even emitted a special afternoon bulletin.

The bulletin noted that there were gusts of up to 85 kph (53 mph) in the Central Valley, the north Pacific and in the mountains.

The weather service repeated its warnings about falling trees and other damage likely from the winds.
