Crime lab honored with new stamp

The judicial medical examiners and colleagues will get their own postage stamp Monday.  Correos de Costa Rica plans to honor the Organismo Médico Forense on its 50th anniversary.

This is the national crime lab associated with the Judicial Investigating Organization. Although the agency, based in San Joaquín de Flores, Heredia, is best known for the autopsies that are conducted there.  There also is a full range of other scientific crime-solving techniques.

The stamp went into circulation Friday, and a small ceremony will be held at the crime lab today.
