President signs San Ramón highway bill

President Luis Guillermo Solís went to San Ramón Monday to sign into law a bill that creates a trust for building the San José-San Ramón highway.

The ceremony took place in front of the local church.

The trust is expected to hold some $473 million that will allow the government to enlarge the existing Autopista General Cañas to eight lanes from San José to Juan Santamaría airport and four lanes from there to San Ramón.

The road will have four toll stations for a total cost of 3,500 colons, officials estimated.
