The Movimiento Guías y Scouts de Costa Rica celebrates 100 years Sunday in five locations around the country.
President Luis Guilermo Solís is scheduled to attend a ceremony at 9 a.m. in Parque la Sabana. There also will be local ceremonies at San Ramón, Limón, Pérez Zeledón and Liberia.
In San Ramón local fire fighters will help older scouts rappel from the tower of the local Catholic church.
Starting from Parque Vargas in Limón the scouts will parade through the streets.
There also will be a rally and a run through the streets of Liberia.
At Parque la Sabana the various age groups of scouts and guides are expected to show their various skills.
