Snow hits northern U.S. once again

The northeastern United States again is facing a major snow storm. The area from Chicago to New York and north Boston saw up to a foot of the white stuff.

Thousands of airline flights have been canceled.

The storm follows a blizzard that buried the northeast last week. The rest of the country is not being spared.

The U.S. National Weather Service said that cold, arctic air will surge through the northern Plains today and continue to spread south and east through Wednesday dropping temperatures in its wake.
