Job seekers became prostitutes, agents say

Three women are accused of trapping women in San José into prostitution. Judicial agent detained the trio Friday in Tibás and Paso Ancho.

The Judicial Investigating Organization said the trio advertised for help in two San José bars and offered the employees housing on the premises. After a few weeks they would accuse the employees of taking money from the cash register and give them the remedy of working as a prostitute to make up the missing money.

Agents said that there were 16 women in the locations when agents arrived.
