Expats unlucky enough to have to take the written test for vehicle licensing have a new manual.
The ninth edition of the driving text goes on sale today at book stores authorized the Universidad Estatal a Distancia. The book has grown from 117 to 221 pages. The cost is 5,000 colons, a bit less than $10.
Expats who do not have a valid license from one of the countries that have an agreement with Costa Rica have to take a lecture course, pass a written exam and a road test.
March 13 will be the last test that contains material from the eighth edition, said the Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes.
The libraries that are carrying the book are less-well known firms associated with the university. Eventually sales will be more widespread.
