Five firefighters will celebrate the 150th anniversary of their department by biking more than 1,000 kilometers throughout Costa Rica.
The event starts Sunday in Limón and ends April 29 in Ciudad Neily. The five firefighters, four men and a woman, will visit Tilarán, Santa Cruz, Guápiles and San Carlos, as well as other Costa Rican locations.
The bike riders will carry with them a message of preventing fires, said the Cuerpo de Bomberos.
The 10-day effort will include visits to 25 fire stations. All are dedicated bike riders and some have ridden professionally. They are Oscar Molina, Jonathan Monge, Gustavo Sandí, Argiere Chinchilla and Esteban Solano, said the Bomberos.
