The national water institute plans to cut service to nearly a half million users this morning at 8 a.m.
The outage will be felt in parts of San José, La Unión, Curridabat, Desamparados, Montes de Oca and Guadalupe, the Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados said in an announcement.
The outage is expected to last until 6 p.m. The reason is that the company needs to fix a major leak in the Orosi water transmission line at a Cartago industrial park.
A copy of the announcement is HERE with the details of where the outage will be felt.
Basically the area is from the center of San José Centro to the cantons to the east.
