Workmen will be back on the bridge over the Río Virilla starting at 9 p.m. tonight. They expect to finish the work by 5 a.m. Thursday.
The problem continues to be the metal plate. This time the work is in the westbound lane. The plate is what has given the bridge the informal name of platina.
For years, workers have tried to tack down the metal over an expansion joint. For years, the efforts have failed.
In the past, road officials have not erected detour signs along the Heredia alternate route.
