A double dose of jealousy, adultery and death comes to the Teatro Eugene O’Neill Saturday.
The twin operas “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni and “Pagliacci” by Ruggero Leoncavalllo will be shown in high definition from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.
The theater of the Centro Cultural Costarricense- Norteamericano is in Los Yoses. This is the final performance of the season.
The one-act “Cavalleria Rusticana” and the two-act “Pagliacci” have traditionally been on the same bill since 1893.
The Argentina tenor Marcelo Álvarez appears as Turiddu in “Cavalleria Rusticana” and as Canio in “Pagliacci.” Admission is available through Specialticket.net.
The centro also has announced a list of performances for the next season beginning in October, with “Il Trovatore” and followed by “Otello,” “Manon Lescaut” and “Madame Butterfly.”
