British community plans a picnic May 31 with traditional goodies

The British community plans a charity picnic May 31 at United World College in Santa Ana.

An announcement praised the new location and said that there would be plenty of room for up to 500 guests.

“The British Shop with imported goodies will again be popular so do come early, and the bar will have British beer and Pymms,” said the announcement, adding that there would be lots of prizes with the raffles.

There will be the usual games and entertainments, and some new ones, for children and adults and lots of football for the older youngsters, plus the novelty of designing and making your own hat, fascinator or other millinery concoction, it said.

The picnic features curries, imported Angus hamburgers, sausage butties, and pizza.

Advance-sale tickets are available by contacting  2228-9810 or 2221 2992, and tickets will be available at the entrance, the organization said.
