Judicial agents said they detained a man Tuesday who would burglarize homes that were vacant and pull a homemade firearm on any persons he found inside a house.
The man was detained in Alajuelita and faces allegations from at least seven crimes, said agents. The crimes took place between November and April in Escazú, Coronado, Calle Blancos, Heredia, Sabana and Grecia, they said.
When they raided the man’s home to make an arrest, agents said they found items that appear to have come from some of the crimes.
They also found a homemade, multiple-barreled firearm that was triggered with an elastic band and marijuana.
The individual who committed the crimes forced gates and main doors to gain access. If he found individuals inside, he would hold them at gunpoint, agents said.
